Creating an engaged workforce

With workforces becoming more dispersed, strengthening culture has become more difficult for HR and people teams.

How do you get all these different individuals aligned with what the company is about? How do you make employees who are scattered across locations feel connected to each other? And how can you ensure that people feel appreciated by their peers and managers?

It’s one of the reasons we’re trusted by so many businesses. Our rewards and benefits platform is proven to help businesses create a culture of appreciation — one that motivates people to do their best work. But don’t just take our word for it — why not hear what some of the customers themselves have to say?

ecoDynamics Group: Building an engaged workforce

With dispersed teams across multiple divisions, ecoDynamics Group, Australia’s largest commercial landscaping business, faced the challenge of unifying its workforce and fostering a sense of appreciation. Lisa Cole, Marketing and Social Procurement Manager, recognised the need to create a cohesive culture of recognition and reward, leading her to implement Perkbox as a solution.

“There wasn’t one platform to connect our teams across the divisions. My goal was to foster a group culture where we could all communicate, reward, and recognise each other,” Lisa shared.

Perkbox’s reward and recognition feature became a central tool for fostering appreciation, enabling employees across different locations to recognise one another quickly and easily. The result? An 88% activation rate in just three months, with over 70 recognitions shared during that time. Employees, from the field to the office, now regularly participate in recognition, breaking down the silos between divisions.

“It’s created a culture where people feel valued. Employees are tagging their team members and genuinely enjoy recognising each other. It’s made everyone feel connected and appreciated.”

Perkbox’s reward feature has also streamlined the reward process, giving employees the autonomy to choose rewards that are meaningful to them, while allowing leadership to maintain transparency and control.

“Previously, rewards were inconsistent across divisions. Now, with Perkbox, managers can allocate reward points, and employees can choose how to spend them. It’s simplified the process and made rewards more personal.”

By using Perkbox, ecoDynamics has not only strengthened its Employee Value Proposition (EVP) but also cultivated a culture of appreciation and recognition, helping to keep employees engaged and motivated, no matter where they are based.

Penrith City Automotive: Driving engagement through reward and recognition

Penrith City Automotive, a dealership made up of three franchises, prides itself on being the automotive dealer of choice in its community. With employees across multiple locations, creating a culture of consistent reward and recognition was a challenge. Guest Experience and Standards Manager, Tracey Graham, turned to Perkbox, emphasising the importance of uniformity in their recognition efforts:

“If we didn’t have Perkbox and just left it to the managers to reward their teams, there would be a lot of inconsistencies. I like the consistency Perkbox gives us.”

The results have been impressive. Employees have been able to save on everyday expenses like movie tickets, and the transparency in these types of rewards have eliminated previous discrepancies.

Beyond rewards, Perkbox has transformed Penrith’s company culture by making recognition an integral part of daily work life. Over 95% of employees have received peer-to-peer recognition in the last six months, while 81% have sent recognition.

Tracey noted,

"[Perkbox’s reward and recognition feature] has been the best for us. We adopted it and started using it for birthdays and work anniversaries in the very beginning … and now just about anything somebody does gets a mention!"

This increased recognition has not only boosted morale but has also enhanced collaboration between departments. With employees spread across three buildings, Perkbox’s recognition tool has broken down silos, bringing the Sales, Technicians, and other teams closer together.

Through Perkbox, Penrith City Automotive has built a culture of appreciation, consistency, and collaboration, driving engagement across the business.

Perkbox's reward and recognition feature has been instrumental in fostering a culture of appreciation, enabling peer-to-peer recognition across various locations. This tool has transformed recognition from an ad-hoc activity to a regular, celebrated practice within ASF.

Jodie explained,

"At ASF, when we think of recognition, we think of Perkbox. [It’s] really assisted us in turning our reward and recognition culture from something that was done on an ad-hoc basis, to something that is now done nearly every week."
